Mine is signed in the front, but it appears to simply be a printed signature, not actually "signed". Anyway, I think it's worth having just for historical purposes if you can swallow the price. There are a few tidbits in it, a recipe, some general advice (run 2-4x max, run slow is better, temper it with water down to around 100 proof, etc.), he talks about his burner setup that some were interested in.

It has a lot of pictures in in it (all black and white and poorly shot and produced). It's mostly disjointed stories written in open paragraphs, with no arrangement by chapters. For me, its worth having, but there really isn't a whole lot of detailed information in it. I just received my copy (don't have the first one to compare). They only list 1 available at a time, so if you see it not available, check back.

Now we're purveying the book for him and it seems like not only an honor but a connection," Morse said. "He wrote the book, he signed the book, but he hasn't seen the book. Then, two weeks ago, Sutton's widow, Pam, stopped by and told them the book was now published, and its author wanted only one store's shelves to stock it: theirs. I was shocked when I first saw," Harris said. Then, word of Sutton's death came unexpectedly. "He just became a friend of the store over time, and then he started talking about the predicament that he was in, that he had written this book but couldn't take delivery of the book for fear it would be confiscated," Morse recalled. Through those conversations, a second secret revealed itself. They talked everything from ceramics to, of course, his favorite topic: moonshine. Morse and Harris quickly grew to enjoy their new, long-bearded and rough-skinned outlaw of a friend. "Sometimes he'd like to stay in here and talk, sometimes he'd like to go outside, smoke a lot of cigarettes and drink coffee," said Bent Corner Bookstore employee Allison Harris. He started spending time with us," said Bent Corner Bookstore Owner Mark Morse. "He came across the street looking for books on liquor and liquor making. His weekly visits to the doctor soon turned into weekly visits to the bookstore as well. After his weekly visits to the doctor, he soon realized his tracking bracelet did not go off when he walked to the Bent Corner Bookstore. However, he secretly visited a third place, a bookstore across the street from his doctor. He was allowed to be at 2 places, his home and his chiropracter off the Papermill Drive in Knoxville. He kept a secret that few knew about until he died.įor months before his scheduled prison sentence, Sutton lived on house arrest. Iconic moonshiner, Popcorn Sutton, continues to surprise people even after his death.
